Jacque Fresco – What the Future Holds Beyond 2000

The Venus Project proposes an alternative vision of what the future can be if we apply what we already know in order to achieve a sustainable new world civilization. It calls for a straightforward redesign of our culture in which the age-old inadequacies of war, poverty, hunger, debt and unnecessary human suffering are viewed not only as avoidable, but as totally unacceptable. Anything less will result in a continuation of the same catalog of problems inherent in today’s world.[radium_embed_video title=”Jacque Fresco – What the Future Holds Beyond” link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fb_bTUJp39o” size=”650 x 500″ fullwidth=”yes” lightbox=”no” thumbnail=””]

Many people believe that there is too much technology in the world today, and that technology is the major cause of our environmental pollution. This is not the case. It is the abuse and misuse of technology that should be our major concern. In a more humane society, instead of machines displacing people they would shorten the workday, increase the availability of goods and services, and lengthen vacation time. Our plan is to utilize new technologies to raise the standard of living for all people hence the infusion of machine technology would no longer be a threat.
